Lábaros é uma série de pinturas de silhuetas de fachadas de antigas edificações históricas relevantes que desapareceram em grandes cidades brasileiras como São Paulo. Observando de forma rotineira, por um longo período, a paisagem da capital paulista foi possível perceber as drásticas transformações que afligiram as regiões nos últimos anos e que atingem os tecidos das polis em quase toda sua extensão, resultado de transformações que vem ocorrendo desde o século XIX. Dessas observações, surgiu a necessidade de representar estas paisagens, buscando registrar a percepção do mutável tecido urbano e seus efeitos na vida cotidiana de seus moradores. 

 

Faz parte do grupo de trabalhos chamado Desvios, conjuntamente com as séries de intervenções site specific Deslocamentos e a série de pinturas Aparições.

Lábaros is a series of paintings of silhouettes of facades of important historic buildings that disappeared in large Brazilian cities like São Paulo. Routinely observing the landscape of the state capital for a long period of time, it was possible to perceive the drastic transformations that have afflicted the regions in the last years and that reach the fabrics of the polis in almost all their extension, result of transformations that have been occurring since the century XIX. From these observations, the need arose to represent these landscapes, seeking to record the perception of the changing urban fabric and its effects on the daily life of its residents.

 

It is part of the group of works called Deviations, in conjunction with the series of interventions site specific Displacements and the series of paintings Apparitions.
